Awards Program Overview

On the evening of May 14, New Castle Career Center awarded students for their efforts in each program this school year. Each program instructor selected an outstanding student for each program- below are those students along with their programs:

Facility Maintenance Program, Ajay Molina; Advanced Manufacturing Program, Gunner Doerflein; ICE Program, Kayla Kimmerly; Broadcasting Program, Isabelle Phelps and Dakota Case; Building Trades, Kyler Reeves; Computer Operations, Andrew Whitinger and Jennifer Bridges; Cosmetology Program, Regan Klein and Melissa Main; Culinary Arts Program, Brent Madison and Emilee Whited; Dental Careers, Cheyanne Lazzell; Early Childhood Educational Program, Zoe Prince; EMT Program, Kelsie Patton and Brook Keesling; Engineering Program, John Sears; Graphic Design Program, Coryn Wright and Jalen Lowder; Health Science Education Program, Emily Adams, Anna Shafer, Austin Campton, and Maggie Smith; Marketing Program, Nathan Kimball and Rachel Snavely; Machine Trades Program, Cole Garrity; Veterinary Program, Grace Bronnenberg and Dillen Boyer; Welding Technology Program, Tom Farmer and Kasen Kinnaman.

Special awards were also given to four students for their extra efforts in their programs. Kaylee Fisher received the Jon H. Poteat $100 Scholarship. Destiny Via was the winner of the Indiana Department of Education’s High Ability Logo Contest. Camille Baker won the Indiana Blood Center Scholarship in the amount of $400. Cole Garrity was named the winner of the Butch Fairchild Excellence Award.

In addition to earning their high school diploma, this year 60 area high school seniors earned a diploma from Ivy Tech Community College. They were invited to attend and participate in Ivy Tech’s Graduation Commencement ceremony.
