Career Center Inducts Students Into Technical Honor Society

The New Castle Career Center will hold National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) inductions on March 15 at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Bundy Auditorium for morning and afternoon career programs.

The Career Center will induct a total of 52 second-year students and 58 first-year senior members into the National Chapter. This year’s inductees also include 75 junior-year students.

Senior inductees are eligible for the NTHS scholarship, the Jon Poteat Scholarship, in the amount of $1,000 non-renewable. This scholarship is awarded to one student to recognize the high standard they are held to within the career program academics and skill achievements..

“This year’s membership is a record number of accepted students, showcasing that students persevere through each and every challenge that has presented itself,” shared Angie Talbott, Health Sciences Program Instructor, and NTHS coordinator. “These students have proven that they are ready for both college and a career.”

To be inducted into NTHS, students must meet the following criteria: maintain a B+ average in their career program, a B average in their home school courses, exhibit NTHS character attributes, and showcase leadership knowledge.
