National Technical Honor Society Celebrates Students

For the 2020-21 school year, the New Castle Career Center (NCCC) will be inducting 172 students into the National Technical Honor Society. Of those students, 30 are second-year senior inductees and 142 are first-year inductees. The requirements to be inducted include standards set forth by the National Technical Honor Society and NCCC.

Requirements to be inducted include:

  • Students must be recommended for membership by their career program teacher.
  • Students must have a B+ average in their career program.
  • Students must maintain a B average at their home school.
  • All students must obtain a 95% or better attendance record in their career program.

After grades, attendance, and community service requirements have been noted, home school counselors are asked to verify that each student exemplifies the standards of the National Technical Honor Society. These standards are skill, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership.

The NCCC National Technical Honor Society program had to be modified for the 2021 inductees. The National Technical Honor Society Leaders created a plan to safely celebrate the students being recognized for their achievements by live streaming the ceremony.
