Dental Careers
The Dental Careers program provides students with opportunities to learn skills needed when assisting dentists during chair-side procedures and daily office responsibilities. Areas of instruction include: tooth identification, terminology, disinfection/sterilization, oral health, dental materials, instrumentation, office records, digital x-rays, radiation safety, hygiene, office management software, and OSHA guidelines. Students gain practical experience through job shadowing at local dental offices. Dental Careers is a two year program.

Enjoys hands-on learning
Patience and attention to detail
Able to work on projects independently or in small teams
Must be responsible and dependable
Good communication skills
Academically competitive

INSTRUCTOR: Cara King
IN THE PAST FIVE YEARS:
Students have gone on to attend Ivy Tech, IUPUI, IU East, University of Indianapolis, and Ball State
Some students are employed directly out of high school as dental assistants
