Pre-Engineering is a project-based class focused on learning the basic principles of engineering and design.  Students learn the design process and select an area in which to compete. Students may select from a variety of competitions including: robotics, motorsports, architecture and aerospace. Competition allows students to apply the principles and mechanics of engineering in a hands-on environment.

  • Is a “hands-on” student

  • Interested in industry, technology, design, & engineering

  • Competent in math and science

  • Is patient & shows attention to detail

  • Students have competed in robotics and motorsports competitions

  • Students have won the Indiana Awards of Excellence

  • Students were accepted into engineering programs at Rose-Hulman, Purdue, IUPUI, and Trine

  • The program has received several corporate grants to support student projects and shop equipment
