Returning Staff

At New Castle Career Center (NCCC), instructors Faith Ebbert, Brent Hickman, Kilyssa Hamm, and Jason McCutchan are excited to return for the 2024-25 school year. They started last semester in these new roles and look forward to empowering students in their chosen fields.

Faith Ebbert, Cosmetology Instructional Assistant

In her role as the Cosmetology Instructional Assistant at New Castle Career Center, Faith Ebbert welcomes the opportunity to impart her knowledge and skills to students. She believes that every client interaction serves as a learning experience and shares not only her expertise but also her salon mishaps. Ebbert prepares her students for the realities of their future careers. Through this approach, she equips them with the knowledge they need to navigate successful and challenging cosmetology moments.

Ebbert is most excited to witness the students' enthusiasm and "ah-ha" moments as they embark on their Cosmetology journey. She draws inspiration from two educators she encountered during her cosmetology training “While I was in cosmetology school, two of the educators I had were memorable and amazing, and I strive to be like them for these students. If not for them, I'm not sure I would have followed through with cosmetology as a career,” said Ebbert. “Helping the students to love what they do for the rest of their lives seems like a pretty amazing achievement, and that is my goal for this year and many years to come.”

Brent Hickman - Building Trades Instructional Assistant

Returning to the Career Center as the Building Trades Instructional Assistant, Brent Hickman brings twenty-seven years of experience working with teens. He dedicated several years to coaching high school sports and working with teens in a variety of settings. He hopes to use these experiences to establish connections with the students.

Hickman expressed his excitement about meeting and establishing relationships with the students and seeking opportunities to engage with them. He takes pride in witnessing students acquire new skills and develop confidence in their abilities. He noted that the most rewarding aspect of his work is "watching students gain new skills and get confident in what they are doing.”

Kilyssa Hamm, Health Sciences Instructional Assistant

With new responsibilities as a Health Sciences Instructional Assistant at NCCC, Kilyssa Hamm eagerly awaited the beginning of the school year. She is excited to use her administrative experience to help students explore the healthcare world. Hamm also looks forward to guiding seniors through the college application, graduation, and scholarship processes, drawing from her own experiences.

Hamm shared, “I am looking forward to sharing my experience in healthcare on the administrative side. I want to help the students explore the world of healthcare and discover the best route for them.”

Jason McCutchan, Engineering Instructor

Jason McCutchan is the Engineering Instructor at NCCC and teaches students to design using AutoCAD programs, various manufacturing processes, automation, and robotics. He has twenty-four years of experience in graphic design with multiple corporations and ad agencies. He was the Packaging Director for NAPA Auto Parts for twelve years and used CAD and Adobe Creative programs to create various packaging and store displays.

McCutchan stated, “I look forward to incorporating both my professional and personal experiences with the program's engineering design and principles so that students can continue to develop the field of Engineering.”

When not at the Career Center, McCutchan enjoys the hobby of building vintage automobiles, using various CAD/CAM/CNC software and machinery in the builds.
