EMT & Public Safety

Our hands-on EMT program fully prepares students to become a licensed EMT. In addition to EMT skills, students will gain exposure to many areas of public safety. EMT students are taught real-world situations in our classroom & lab settings. You must be able to pass a criminal history check.

A Typical Student in EMT/Public Safety

Students that want a career in the public safety field
Career aspirations include: EMT, paramedic, firefighter
Students must have a mature attitude and respect confidentiality
Students must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills

What You Will Learn

Learn how to draw blood and perform lab procedures
Participate in rotations across the various fields of public safety
Complete training to become an EMT
Learn to handle victims of hazardous materials accidents
Students will participate in ambulance runs and “ride-along” trips
