Henry County Students Earn Work Ethic Achievements

The Governor’s Work Ethic Certificate (GWEC) provides a pipeline of skilled high school graduates for today’s workforce. The employability skills recognized in the GWEC have been vetted by Hoosier employers, community-based organizations, and post-secondary education institutions and are designed to encourage students to meet the benchmarks that will assist them in their college or career goals.

While the Center was unable to host a formal awards ceremony, the instructors and administrators at the school still honor these students for their outstanding work in their designated career program.

New Castle Career Center Students Earn Ivy Tech Certificates

The New Castle Career Center recognizes and honors the 96 students who earned an Ivy Tech certificate for the 2019-20 school year. Students are given the opportunity to earn between 5 and 30 dual credits during their career programs or early college program. New Castle Career Center students are able to earn a Pre-Nursing, CNA, Welding, or Precision Machining diploma from Ivy Tech prior to graduating from high school.  Traditionally, students are given the opportunity to participate in Ivy Tech’s graduation, however, the ceremony is being postponed to a later date.
